Capitol Shakespeare’s youth theater program, The Young Bards, will open for registration soon.  Please check back for specific registration information. Students age 12-18 will work with a highly qualified guest director to create a production based on one or more of Shakespeare's plays.

The online registration form will be here on our website, www.capitolshakespeare.org. Rehearsals will be Monday -Thursday evenings at Bismarck State College June 22nd through the final performance on July 26th.  Role placement auditions will take place at the first rehearsal, all who register will receive a role.

The Young Bards program seeks to train young actors in methods of expression and interpretation of classical text.  Students will learn and grow in their understanding of theater, iambic pentameter, physical expression, and emotional commitment to a character.  They will help select scenes, write their own introductions, and establish a performance order to create a fluid and engaging final performance. The scenes will be also be performed prior to the Capitol Shakespeare Mainstage production of The Winter's Tale.
